The Richmond Jazz Festival

One of my friends, Sarah, was telling me about this amazing event that goes on once a year in the Richmond area. Now, I wouldn’t normally stick to one location and blog about it from post to post, but Richmond, Virginia keeps popping up on my radar any time I ask or search around for the newest and most exciting festivals in the US.

The only reason Sarah was actually telling me about this particular festival, is because her father’s company was invited to set up their photo booth there. They are so please give them a shout out from Grant if you decide to go and do some jazzin’ around.

After she told me about it, I started doing some fair amount of research and was eager to find out more. It turns out that the roots of the festival don’t run too deep, since jazz music hasn’t been around all that long. (more…)

RVA Folk Festival Lineup

There’s an upcoming festival up in Richmond, Virginia called the Richmond Folk Festival. It’s a fair and a festival that has roots dating back to 1900’s when Richmonders weren’t even Richmonders yet, but instead the common folk who enjoyed a good, old-fashioned party! Ever since then, it has grown into a huge, if not a massive party / fair where people come from all over the world to see the top performers of all kinds of different(new or unexplored) types of music. This year’s lineup has been announced on June 2nd and it is looking very promising. (more…)

Why U No Share?!

I’ve always enjoyed a good festival.  There is something about waiting for that once a year event with the turkey legs, candy apples, BBQ ribs and so many other goodies.

One of the festivals that come to mind is the Renaissance Festival in Annapolis, MD.  I remember the first time I went to it since it was a reasonable drive from Richmond, VA.  I had just gotten off the phone with my friend Phil who lives in Maryland and he had officially named me his best man for his upcoming wedding in Richmond.  Phil and I had been best friends for over 15 years and I was honored to be there by his side for the big day.

Since I was to be Phil’s best man, it was up to me to organize the bachelor’s party.  The wedding was going to be in our hometown in Richmond, VA and I had the best places for our group to go all planned out.  I also knew who to call for the best limo service in Richmond.  Limo Richmond was the company I had used many times before for special occasions. I Love Music

Music comes as a passion to me. It doesn’t matter what kind necessarily; I can always find the beauty in it. So naturally, I love music festivals! People just come together for that one special thing that seems to flow within all of our veins: the love for music. I remember my first music festival.  It was a hot Summer day in Florida in late May. The forecast said it would be a rainy day but that didn’t stop people from flowing in.
